Passed away peacefully at Lightways Hospice Home, Monday, August 29, 2022. Age 87 years. Survived by his sons, Eric (Karen) Anderson and Christopher Anderson; his loving grandchildren, Chloe, Paige and Brianna Anderson; his brother and sister-in-law, J. Norman (Kathleen) Anderson. Preceded in death by his loving wife of 46 years, Kathleen L. (nee Katenhusen) (2017); his parents, Edward O. and Margaret Ann Anderson; Gene retired as a communication supervisor with the Illinois State Police. He was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church. Gene loved his family and especially his grandchildren, he will be missed by all who loved him. A memorial gathering and service will be held for close friends and relatives at Our Savior Lutheran Church on Saturday, September 3, 2022 from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11:00 A.M. Inurnment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park.
