Passed away peacefully at home, after a brief illness with his family by his side, Friday, July 13, 2012. Age 74. Survived by his wife Patricia (nee Wolfe), a son Gregory Own, step-daughter Kelly (Timothy) Offerman and step-son Frederick (Valerie) Viano Jr. Five grandchildren Stephanie and Bryan Offerman, Jaclyn and Ceara Viano and Fern Owen. Two nieces, a nephew and several cousins. Preceded in death by his parents Wesley T. and Motie S. Owen, a brother Wesley Owen Jr, several aunts, uncles and two cousins. Born in Danville, VA., Veteran of the US Navy. Enjoyed a 27 years career as a Nursing Home Administrator serving in Chicago, Waukegam, Springfield and Joliet areas. Self employed for 6 years prior to his retirement.
