Passed away at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, Wednesday, January 13, 2021. Age 83 years. Survived by his loving wife of 60 years. Judith A. Swango (nee Greene), two daughters Deana (Ron) Babecki and Dava (Stoney) Collman. Eight grandchildren Courtenay (Daniel) Martin, Krystyne Swan, Gail (Christopher Roe) Swango, Thomas (Shasta Blankenmyer) Swan, Elizabeth Swango, Jimmie (Shelby) Campbell, Daniel (Courtney Galbreath) Campbell and Douglas (Gabrielle Emmons) Campbell. 15 great-grandchildren. His sister June (James) Gibbs. His best friends Jim Dorman, Jim Shawmaker, Harry Dorman and Sam Wallace. Preceded in death by his son Daniel Swango, two brothers Roy and Russel Griffin. His parents Roy and Margaret Swango. Jerry retired from Joliet School District 86 as a building engineer. Retired from the Joliet Auxiliary Police Department after 10 years of service. Member of the Bottomland Band. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 10:00 A.M.. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 19th from 2:00 – 5:00 P.M.
