Gloria Christine Bosonetta (nee Simon) Age 86 years, passed away on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at home with her loving family by her side. She was born on the south-side of Chicago on December 22, 1934, the daughter of Elva Sr. and Esther (nee Neidhardt) Simon. Gloria married James J. Bosonetta Sr. on August 6, 1955. Preceded in death by her husband, James J. Bosonetta Sr. in 2010; her parents, Elva Sr. and Esther Simon; her son, James J. Bosonetta Jr.; her brother, Elva Simon Jr. and a sister, Joan (late, Ray) Browell. Survived by her son, Daniel (Margaret) Bosonetta; her grandchildren, Kandice (Ulises Sr.) Carreno, James (Marisa) Bosonetta, Donald Bosonetta and Cale Bosonetta; her great-grandchildren, Ulises Jr, Reyna, Kristas and Natahlia Carreno; her dearest sister, Merryle Simon; her sister-in-law Marion (late Elva Jr.) Simon and by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. After the death of her son James Jr., Gloria became a foster parent over the next 20 years. Gloria and her husband Jim, fostered hundreds of children and became Master Foster Parents, winning several awards for fostering children. Many to this day still stay in touch by post cards, Christmas cards and lovingly call her mom. Visitation for Gloria C. Bosonetta will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Wednesday, January 6, 2021 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Private funeral services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, January 7, 2021 at 10 AM. In accordance with the current Covid-19 guidelines, all attending will be required to properly wear a facial mask and observe social distancing. Gloria will be laid to rest with her husband James Sr. at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery following the service on Thursday. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her memory to Joliet Area Community Hospice would be appreciated.
