Gordon J. Latz Sr. – passed away peacefully with his loving daughter by his side, at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, Saturday, January 2, 2021. Age 83 years. Survived by his two sons Gordon J. (Patricia) Latz, Jr. and Anthony Latz, his daughter Lori A. (Samuel) Harper. Nine grandchildren Wendy, John, Tiffany, Heather, Kari, Jon and Aaron. Great-grandchildren Leah and Matthew with the 3rd due in January and step-great-grandchildren Dominck and Rocco; a brother Sheldon (Janice) Latz and his sister Sharon (William) Drilling. Also surviving numerous nieces and nephews, friends and faithful companion Joe. Preceded in death by his parents Vincent and Mildred Latz., his wife Judith of 56 years, his beloved grandson Joshua Harper and daughter-in-law Karen Latz. Gordon was a retired Lieutenant from the Joliet Police Department after 33 years of service. He went to the FBI Academy for training in SWAT team which he proudly brought back to the Joliet Police Department. He also worked for the Forest Preserve Police Department. Gordon was an outdoorsman, enjoying golf and going to Branson. He was a devoted family man and will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Private family services will be held. Interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery.
