Passed away peacefully with her daughter at her side at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, Friday, January 22, 2021. Age 97 years.
Survived by her only child Susan (Gerald) Pacin of Shorewood, three grandchildren Jeffry Pacin of Shorewood, Ann (Frank) Luce of New Lenox and David (Keri) Pacin of Minooka. Six great-grandchildren Stephanie (Chris) Joseph currently stationed in Italy, Mitchell Pacin, Deegan Pacin, Frankie Luce, Marissa Luce and Sophia Luce. Six great-great grandchildren. Her sister Catherine (Quinten-deceased) Benson. Also numerous nieces and nephews survive.
Preceded in death by her husband Gilbert Knater (former Will County Sheriff), her parents Michael and Anna (nee Bojkov) Kosinski. Four sisters Mary (Peter) Blasio, Genevieve (Samuel) Beck, Stella (Dr. Russell) Karr and Diana (Pat) Dwyer. Five brothers Teddy, Casimer (at Iwo Jima), Joseph (Emily), Michael (Jean) and Walter (Elizabeth) Kosinski.
Harriet was born in Joliet on November 20, 1923 and was a life-long resident. She worked several years at Caterpillar Tractor Co and later at St. Joseph Hospital. Harriet was an active member of First Assembly of God Church and Seasoned Sisters, loved Jesus, golfing, the Chicago Cubs and Milk Duds. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and always welcomed company with a bowl of popcorn.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
