Helen “Ginger” Krabbe

Age 86, of Plainfield passed away at Lightways Hospice & Serious Illness Care on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, after a brief battle with illness.

Ginger, as she was known by most, was born August 24, 1940 in Chicago to Raymond and Helen Morris. After graduating from highschool, she began a fulfilling career first at ACME Steel and then at Mobile Chemical/BASF, eventually moving on to work as a Parish administrative assistant at Holy Family Church.

Ginger is survived by her sons Steve (Becky) Krabbe and Brian Krabbe, her brother Raymond (Margaret) Morris, her grandchildren Matthew and Beth Krabbe, her former husband and close friend Ronald Krabbe, numerous nieces and nephews, and her beloved friends Jill M. and Karen C.

Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd,. Thursday October 22, 2026 at 12:30 PM . Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Lightways Hospice & Serious Illness Care will be appreciated.
