Helen Keigher (nee Sula) - passed away peacefully with her family at her side at Bayshore of Hilton Head Island SC, Wednesday January 16th 2019 at age 82 years. Born in Joliet on June 25th 1936. Survived by her two children James P. (Susan) Keigher and Debra A. (Patrick) Futterer. Four grandchildren William (Tracy) Keigher, Jay (Sarah) Keigher, Zachary Futterer and Bridgette Hart. Four great-grandchildren Jack Keigher, Harper and Olivia Keigher, and Payton McBee. Also survived by sisters-in-laws, Maryann Sula, Rita Sula and Carolynn Sula. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years William T. Keigher (2012), her parents Joseph and Mary (Banas) Sula, sisters Mary (Victor) Kasper, Elsie (Stewart) Rollinson, brothers Steven (Rose), Joseph, George, Raymond, Carl and niece Rosann Sula. Helen graduated from Joliet Township High School in 1954. Helen was a member of St. Mary's Nativity Church Joliet, Illinois. Helen was an avid golfer and made a hole-in-one at Wedgewood Golf Course, hole #8 130 yards on July 3rd 1997. She will always be remembered for her love of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Helen enjoyed a very close relationship with her niece Joan Sula, who she spent many Christmas Holidays together. Helen was loved and cherished by her family and friends, she will be missed. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Friday, January 25, 2019 at 10:30 A.M. to St. Mary Nativity Catholic Church, 706 North Broadway Street, Joliet for a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 A.M. Interment will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Monday, January 28, 2019 at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to American Liver Foundation would be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday morning from 9:00 A.M. until 10:30 A.M.
