Of Joliet, formerly of Elkins, AR. And Port Richey, FL. passed away peacefully with his family by his side Sunday, August 11, 2013. Age 79 years. Survived by his two sons Randy (Judy) and Rob (Renea) Hughes both of Joliet, two daughters Cathy Webster of Bloomington, IL and Tina (John) Cap of Frankfort, IL, nine grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren and a son-in-law Gary Haire of Crest Hill. Also numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his wife Sharon C. (nee Jobba) Hughes (2007), a daughter Sherry Haire, his parents Herbert Sr. and Ole Mae Hughes and two sisters Mary Redman and Shirley Hughes. Born and lived in Bloomington, IL, then moved to Joliet where he was a resident for 36 years before moving to Port Richey, FL for 14 years and the past year and a half in Elkins, AR. before moving back to Joliet after his wife passed. Retired machinist from Caterpillar and Chief Engineer with the East Joliet Fire Department. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Joliet, IL. Friday, August 16th at 10 A.M. Entombment Elmhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials to the East Joliet Fire Department will be appreciated. Visitation will be Thursday from 3:00 to 8:00 P.M.
