"Renie" (nee Sfurm) - Passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013, at her home. Age 86. Irene was a lifelong Joliet resident of Joliet. Born to the late Joseph and Julia Sfurm on December 26, 1926. Irene devoted her life to her family. She was loving, thoughtful and selfless soul. A kind and generous friend to all. She will be greatly missed. Survived by her two loving children, daughter Renee (Larry) Gualdoni and a son Bob "Lucky" McCabe; four grandchildren Sommer (Bryan) Hall, Heather (Brad) Myers, Robert D. (Ellen) McCabe and Katie (Nick) Magosky; adored by seven great-grandchildren Madilyn and Brayden Myers; Anne, Louise, and Ruby McCabe; Bella and Emett Magosky. A special niece, daughter of her heart Julie (Thomas Borish) Sfurm, brothers-in-law John Csikos and Harold "Bud" McCabe, beloved daughter-in-law Susan Plut and sister-in-law Patty McKinney Rice (nee McCabe). Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her husband of 62 years Robert H. McCabe (2009) her parents Joseph and Julia (nee Vargo) Sfurm, two brothers George and John Sfurm and a sister Margaret Csikos. Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, May 25, 2013at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation Friday from 3-7 PM.
