Formerly of Crest Hill and Joliet, passed away at Riverside Medical Center, Tuesday, January 11, 2022. Age 56 years.
Survived by his loving wife Donna K. Carroll (nee Hughes). Three children Jeffrey (Briana) Carroll, Nichole (Matthew) Steen and Ashley Nelson. Six grandchildren Ethan Nelson, Krystoffer Carroll, Ana Carroll, Brylee Carroll, Gerald Steen and Zoey Carroll. His sister Vicki Chambers and adoptive sister Martha Pedersen. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by a son Gerald Carroll (1995), his parents James J. and Betty E. (nee Williams) Carroll. A brother-in-law George Chambers.
Jim was born March 8, 1965 in Joliet. Graduate of Joliet Township High School West Campus Class of 1983, where he was active in ROTC, choir and theater. Jim was a driver for Hoffman Transport Group for over 15 years and a ordained minister. Former member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Jim's passion in life was spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved the outdoors, fishing, motorcycles and old cars. Jim was a Member of React. He enjoyed being a Youth Minister and was a loving foster parent for several years. Jim took great pride in being in the American Legion Band at eh age of 16.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Monday, January 17th at 10:00 A.M. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 – 6:00 P.M.
