Passed away peacefully after a courageous battles with cancer, at Silver Cross Hospital with his family by his side, Tuesday, February 10, 2015. Age 78. Survived by his loving wife of 57 years Shirley (nee Lockard), two sons James T. (Deborah) and Clayton (Violet Lekic-Roberts) Dieter. Six grandchildren James and Mark Dieter, Clayton and Naomi Dieter, Tanya Martin and Sabrina Roberts; two great-grandchildren. His sister Carolyn Donley and a very dear friend Tony Hermann. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and a sister. Born in Joliet and a lifelong resident. Retired from Joliet Public Grade School District #86 and Lawson's Garage. He enjoyed gardening, NASCAR and NHRA. Memorial services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, February 14, 2015, at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services at 11:00 A.M.
