James C. Freckelton – died peacefully at Salem Village of Joliet, Saturday, July 30, 2022. Age 72.
Survived by his wife of 50 years Lori (Fassino) Freckelton, son Dan (Jill) Freckelton and daughter Katie (Frank) Miner. His grandchildren Emily Miner, Troy, Shea and Johnny Freckelton. Sisters Mary (Roger) Alstott, Peggy (Lou) Budler, his brother John (Toni) Freckelton, brother in law Richard (Diana) Fassino, sister in law Dorla Dean (Jim) Rinaldo and numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents Donald and Catherine Freckelton, and in-laws Richard and Alma Fassino.
Jim was a graduate of Joliet Catholic High School class of 1968, and was retired from Exxon Mobil Refinery. Vietnam Veteran and a member of Stone City VFW 2199. Jim was an avid hunter and fisherman, and enjoyed spending many summers in Northern Wisconsin. Longtime coach for many local soccer and basketball teams. He was instrumental in starting the girls soccer program at Joliet Catholic Academy. He enjoyed spending time watching his kids and then his grandkids play sports. Jim could make a room light up with laughter, and could often be found with an ice cold beverage in hand. He was a Cubs fan and a diehard Packer fan, Go Pack Go!
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd, Saturday, August 6, at 10:00 A.M. Visitation will be Friday August 5, from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.
