Of Crest Hill, passed away at Sarasota Memorial Hospital in Sarasota, Florida, Tuesday, January 17, 2023. Age 81 years.

Survived by his wife of 61 years Barbara J. Schwandt (nee Gibson), their children Kim E. (Robin Hasemann) Schwandt, Cheryl (John) Fron, Eric J. (Manju) Schwandt and Darrell J. (Lisa) Schwandt. Eight grandchildren Allison and Lindsey Fron, Jerod, Eddie, Trinity and MajBritt Schwandt, Jamie and Jessica Hasemann. Also several nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by his parents George and Esther (nee Morganstern) Schwandt and his five brother and sisters.

Jim was born June 10, 1942 in Chicago and was a graduate of North Park College. Jim was an independent medical sales representative with territories in Wisconsin, retiring in 2010. He was actively involved in the communities of both Carillon Lakes Senior Community in Crest Hill, IL. and Lazy River Village in North Port, FL. After retiring Jim learned to play the organ and became an accomplished painter. He was active in sports from his youth into his retirement and was a loyal Packers Fan. Member of First Presbyterian Church of Joliet.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmqiust-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Saturday, January 28th at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Bo Micea officiating. Visitation will be held Friday, January 27th from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M. In lieu of flowers memorials to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org will be appreciated.
