Janine M. Parr (nee Stearman)

Passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, September 5th, 2026, at the age of 75.

Janine is survived by her devoted husband of 58 wonderful years Terrance Parr, her son TJ (Jennifer) Parr, her daughters Melissa (Larry) Lucas and Michelle (Keith) Lusczak, her sister Debbie (Steve) Pearson, her grandchildren Josh, Amber, Stephanie, Aaron, Mitchell and Logan, her great-grandchildren Zoey, Wyatt and Saphirra, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Preceded in death by her parents Glenn and Marie Stearman, her sisters Kay Sandeen and Becky Stahlman, her brother-in-law Ken Sandeen, and her father and mother-in-law Ken and Phyllis Parr.

Janine was born on November 9, 1950, in Joliet, Illinois. She attended Fairmont Grade School and graduated from Lockport Central High School, where she played the clarinet in the band. Through the band, Janine was given the wonderful opportunity to march in Toronto, Canada, creating memories she carried with her throughout her life.

During her senior year of high school, Janine also attended cosmetology school. Her passion and determination soon led her to open her own beauty shop in the basement of her home, where she enjoyed a fulfilling 35-year career as a beautician. Always full of drive and ambition, Janine embarked on a second career as a machine operator at Mobil Chemical, later renamed Pactiv, where she proudly worked and thrived for 20 years.

Janine had a gift for making people feel loved, and her home was often at the heart of family celebrations. She was an incredible cook, cheesecake being her signature specialty. She lovingly decorated her home for birthdays and holidays, with Christmas holding a particularly special place in her heart.

Creative and generous, Janine loved to paint and frequently gave handcrafted gifts to family and friends. These thoughtful creations remain treasured reminders of her love and artistry. She was also an avid reader and took great joy in curating her beautiful collection of Longaberger baskets.

Memorial services for Janine Parr will be held from Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Monday, September 21, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations to Lightways Hospice will be appreciated.
