JoEllyn M. Stefanski

Passed away peacefully at her residence on Saturday, January 31, 2026 after an 11 year battle with cancer. Age 42 years.

Survived by her parents John A. and Arlene M. (nee Bohland) Stefanski. Her siblings Brianna (Kimberly) Stefanski and Michael (Christina) Stefanski. Her former husband and friend Michael Ciani. Three aunts Loretta Schwake, Debbie (Roger) Morris and Diane (Don) Koonce.   Her nieces and nephews Corey Canterbury, Hunter, Emily and Austyn Stefanski also survived by two great-nieces Cammi and Aurora and great-nephew Jake.

Preceded in death by her maternal grandparents Rudolph and Dolores Bohland and her paternal grandparents Bruno and Lucille Stefanski.  Her uncle Rudolph Bohland.

Born on September 29, 1983, in Oak Lawn, Illinois, JoEllyn was a graduate of Plainfield Central High School, Class of 2002. She was employed as a customer service representative with Blue Cross and Blue Shield and was a devoted member of Life Spring Community Church in Plainfield.

JoEllyn was known for her kindness, generosity and helping others, especially through her volunteer work crocheting baby blankets for premature infants through Angel Blankets. She had a deep love of travel and cruises. She was able to fulfilled her lifelong dream of visiting all 50 states. One of her favorite pastimes was game night with friends and relatives.

Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Thursday, February 5th from 4:00 P.M. until services at 7:30 P.M. Memorials to Pink Heals Joliet Chapter or Lightways Hospice will be appreciated.
