Obituary

John L. Cacia

Formerly of Joliet, on Friday, September 29th, 2023, the world lost a remarkable man, a loving husband, and devoted father, passed away in Novato, California. He was 67 years old.

John was born in Chicago, Illinois, and his journey through life was a testament to the values of hard work and family. He graduated from Joliet Township High School Central Campus. Throughout his career, John was a dedicated member of the IBEW Local #60 in San Antonio, Texas, where he devoted over 35 years of service as an electrician. His commitment to his job was a reflection of his unwavering dedication to providing for his family and securing their future.

Family was the cornerstone of John's existence. He cherished the moments spent with his loved ones and consistently sought to strengthen the bonds that connected his family members across the country. John had an exceptional talent for coordinating family gatherings, ensuring that family ties remained strong and vibrant.

One of the proudest moments in John's life was when he became a new grandfather, fondly known as "Papou," to little Penelope Tams. John was a man of varied interests and hobbies. He had a passion for cycling. He found solace and excitement in skiing down snow-covered slopes, and he had a sharp eye and a skilled hand for billiards. His love for exploring new places led him on adventures through travel, where he gathered experiences and memories that will forever be cherished.

John is survived by his loving wife Elizabeth Cacia, whose support and companionship were the strength of his life. He is also survived by his daughter Nicole (Christopher) Tams and his son Louis Cacia, who carry forward the legacy of his love, determination, and values. His sisters and brother Elizabeth (Brad) Campbell, Linda Kelliher and William Kelliher, will forever hold their memories of John dear to their hearts. Several nieces and nephews also mourn the loss of a beloved uncle.

John's memory will live on in the hearts of those who were privileged to know him. He will forever be remembered as a loving husband, father, and friend whose presence brightened the lives of all who were fortunate enough to share in his journey.
