Passed away at Lightways Hospice Home, Saturday, February 5, 2022. Age 91 years.
Survived by three children Michael (Jorja) Sheridan, Tom (Cheryl) Sheridan and Joanne (Jim) Culp. Six grandchildren Kristina (Tim) Lowman, Robert (Meghan) Culp, Jenine Connolly, Mathew (Morgan) Sheridan, Jonathan (Alexia) Sheridan and Emily (Nick) Zappavigna. Thirteen great-grandchildren Kailey McClintock, Connor and Addison Lowman, Everly and Tobias Culp, Emma, Dylan and Gavin Connolly, Ian and Liam Sheridan, Lilly, Anthony and Aubree Zappavigna. Two nieces Diane McLelland and Patricia Sheridan.
Preceded in death by his wife of 66 years LaVonne Sheridan (nee Mitchell), his parents Raymond and Dorothy Sheridan. His brother Kerry Sheridan and sister-in-law Donna Sheridan.
Jack was born April 27, 1930 in Joliet. He attended Joliet Township High School. Veteran of the United States Navy. Longtime member of Central Presbyterian Church serving many years as a church Elder. Jack was employed with Illinois Bell Telephone Company from 1953 – 1985. Member of the Joliet Auxiliary Police from 1968 – 2004, serving as chief the last 10 years. Jack enjoyed golfing, bowling, Harrah's Casino and serving at Daybreak Shelter, but his biggest joy was his family. He was always there to lend a helping hand when needed and his compassion and 'wit" will be deeply missed.
Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Friday, February 11th at 10:00 A.M. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation will be held Thursday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.
