Joseph J. Cortese Age 81, at rest on Friday, May 7, 2021 after a brief illness. Born in Joliet on February 26, 1940. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carlo and Yolanda Cortese. His sister, Frances (Jack) Fritz and his most loving son, Joseph Carlo Cortese (February 2013). Joe is survived by his best friend and forever loving wife of over 60 years, Patricia (nee Kennedy); his wonderful children, Lynnette Cortese and Jeffrey M. (Tammy) Cortese; his loving grandchildren, Joseph M. Cortese, Kristy (John) Lofky, Jeffrey R. Cortese and Kaitlyn Cortese; his great-grandchildren, Gracelyn and Kathlyn Cortese, Camden, Jackson and Grayson Lofky; Also survived by many dear in-laws and wonderful friends. Joe served his country in the Army, He returned home and married his love. He worked hard for 39 ½ years at Material Service and raised his family he loved so much. Member of the Moran A.C.and an avid sports fan of the White Sox, Pittsburgh Steelers and Notre Dame. He will be deeply missed and loved forever. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Wednesday, May 12, 2021 from 4 pm – 7 pm. Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home on Thursday, May 13, 2021 at 10:00 A.M. In accordance with Covid 19 safety guidelines, all attending the visitation and service will be required to properly wear a facial mask and observe social distancing. Interment St. Mary Nativity Catholic Cemetery, Crest Hill.
