Passed away quietly at home with his family by his side after a brief illness, Wednesday, December 4, 2013. Age 77. Survived by his loving wife of 49 years Carmen Kehrer, his two children Kelly (Ron) Robinson and Brian (Michelle) Kehrer. Five grandchildren Elizabeth and Brandon Gable, Brittany, Sarah and Sam Kehrer. His sister Helen (Ed) Troutt and a brother Richard (Betty) Kehrer. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents Michael and Annabelle Kehrer and two brothers Perry and Ted Kehrer. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force. Retired from Caterpillar after 34 years. An avid Nascar fan and enjoyed woodworking. A loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. His greatest joy was spending time with his family. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Monday, December 9, 2013 at 10:00 A.M. with Rev. Robert D. Peterson officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to the Joliet Area Community Hospice or the Lung Cancer Research Foundation will be appreciated. Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00-6:00 PM.
