Passed away peacefully Thursday, August 29, 2013. Age 81. Survived by his six grandchildren Brandy (Patrick) McErlean, James (Angela) Hicks, Delores (John) Vance, Joseph (Tina) Patterson II, Betty Jean (Mike) Gifford and Cora Beth Fuller. A brother Charles Patterson and four sisters Betty (Ralph) Hagdorn, Virginia M. Lynn, Katherine Ribble and Ruth L. "Bootsy" Cocimano. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his wife Cora Lee Patterson (1999), three daughters Darlene A. Patterson, Judy Hicks and Roberta Ann Meents, his parents Vernie J. and Ruth L. (nee Partlow) Patterson and two brothers Frankie and John Patterson. Veteran of the US National Guard, Pastor of the Gospel Harmony Church of Christ. Retired from International Harvestor/Navistar. Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, on Tuesday, September 3, 2013 at 11:00 AM. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 9:00 AM until the time of services at 11:00 AM.
