Joyce M. Warnsdorfer

Peacefully passed away at St. Patrick Residence in Naperville on Sunday, January 14, 2024, at the age of 81 years.

Joyce is survived by her three daughters Lisa Doggett, Denise (Joe) Sohovich, and Alison (Andy) Eaker. Her memory lives on through her five grandchildren Joey Sohovich, Tyler Eaker, Josh Sohovich, Jessica Sohovich, and Nick Eaker. She was also cherished by her extended family and friends who will deeply miss her.

Preceding in death by her husband of 59 years, Ronald H. Warnsdorfer (October 2020) and her parents Anton and Helen Knobloch.

Born on February 21, 1942, Joyce was raised in South River, NJ. Her grandparents, political refugees from Yugoslavia and Poland, shaped her early years. She was a graduate of South River High School Class of 1960 where she participated with cheerleading. On April 8, 1961, she married the love of her life,  Ronald "Ronnie" Warnsdorfer.  The couple shared a life together that led them to West Berlin when Ronnie was drafted into the U.S. Army. Joyce embraced the opportunity to travel in Europe during their time stationed abroad. It was in Germany that they formed a lasting friendship with Kenny and Anita Brink, a bond that endured for 60 years.  Throughout Joyce's life she found joy in reading, vacationing at the Jersey Shore, and treasured moments spent with her family, including her beloved pup Mario.

Funeral services to celebrate Joyce's life will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., on Thursday, January 25th, at 12:00 P.M. Interment will follow at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation hours are scheduled for Wednesday from 3:00 – 7:00 P.M.
