Judy Schreiner, 73, of Lockport, IL, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2022, at her home. She was born March 26, 1948 in Joliet, IL to Reverend Robert and Beverly (Huston) Augustine. Judy worked for White Oak Library District, Lockport Branch beginning in 2004 until her passing. Her co-workers became her second family. She had a particular talent for connecting with older patrons and noticing when someone needed a little extra attention, making them feel welcome by always taking the time to show a genuine interest in their day and in the goings-on of their lives. Throughout her 17 years at the library, she made a lasting impression on the people she worked with and whenever they see a butterfly, they will be reminded of her. Judy is survived by her sons; Robert (Susan) Schreiner of Wadsworth, IL, Anthony Schreiner of the state of Oregon; daughters, Barbra (Michael) Nungester of Washington, IL, Beverly (Hal) Fordham of East Peoria, IL; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Terry) Randall, Christopher, Alexis and Caitlyn Nungester, Tillyanne and Elias Fordham; and great-granddaughter, Kyrie Randall. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister, Sandra Speckman; and granddaughter, Cassandra Nungester. Visitation and service will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Joliet, IL. Cremation rites will be accorded.
