Formerly of Joliet, passed away at Heritage Manor in Dwight, Friday, February 5, 2021. Age 102 years. Survived by her daughter Elaine M. (Elton E.) Gerber and her son Donald E. (Barbara A.) Groth. Five grandchildren Timothy E. (Cindy) Gerber, Michael A. (Mary) Gerber, Jonathan (Lindsay) Groth, Kristel (Francisco) Garcia and Thomas (Crystal) Groth. Nine great-grandchildren Ethan, Scarlett, Maci and Monroe Gerber, Lukas Groth, Helen, Alicia and Gabriel Garcia and Scarlett Groth. Preceded in death her husband Donald J. Groth (2004), her parents Ernest and Julia Anderson. June was born February 28, 1918 in Joliet. She was a lifelong Joliet resident until moving to The Woods in Dwight eight years ago. Member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and attended the Church of Hope Presbyterian in Gardner. June loved crossword puzzles, gardening sewing and cooking. She was only 25 days short of her 103rd birthday and enjoyed driving until the age 97. Memorial services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, February 10th at 11:00 A.M. Rev. Matthew Robinson officiating.
