June M.
Peishler
June 19, 1927 – September 11, 2023
June Marie Peishler
passed away peacefully in her sleep on September 11, 2023 at the age of 96.
She is survived by her loving children Barbara (Larry) Olszowka, and Robert (Deb) Faillo, proud grandmother to Julie (Mario) Garcia, Jason (Arielle) Olszowka, Timothy (Emilie) Faillo, Christina (Allen) Bresson, and Michael (Kelly) Faillo. Loving great grandmother (Gigi) to numerous great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
June was preceded in death by her former husband Robert J. Faillo (2021) who was father to her two children and her husband Frank Peishler (1993).
June was born in Chicago to Fred and Cecelia (Bishoff) Scolaro in June of 1927. June graduated high school in 1945 and married Robert in 1946. June was a very independent woman and worked numerous jobs but settled in the food service industry where she worked until the age of 74. June was also a very beautiful woman evident by her being named Miss Polaroid in the 1960's where she actively displayed the new cameras in various retail settings. A loving and dedicated mother, June raised her two children to be active in life and independent in thinking. She was also a loving and cherished grandmother to her five grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great, great grandchild.
June loved to travel as she did often with Frank until his passing. In her younger days she was quite a dancer and visited Willowbrook often. Although she had a great sense of humor, she many times said or did something that resulted in her being the brunt of the family joke which created the term – "another grandma story" She also had a passion for cooking and had made many favorite dishes and desserts that she will long be remembered for; although, she was always ready to try a new restaurant and share a taste (a dab) with everyone else's dish. Her other real passion was shopping and buying various jewelry and clothing items until her closets were bursting. She loved her family and life, touched everyone she met in friendly and welcoming way, always put everyone ahead of her needs and will be sorely missed by all.
A memorial service will be held at Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home at 2320 Black Rd in Joliet Il, on Wednesday, September 27th with visitation from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm with Deacon John Freund officiating the service at 1:00 pm. Private burial will be at Mt. Carmel Cemetery in Hillside.
