Of Joliet, passed away on Sunday, September 19, 2021, after a battle with Alzheimer's at the age of 70 years. Kathy was born on July 29, 1951 to Frank and Jeanette Murray in Battle Creek, Michigan. After graduating from St. Phillip High School in 1968, she went on to study Medical Technology at Marquette University. After graduation, she began her career as a Medical Technologist in San Jose, California, enjoying her time off at the oceans or in the mountains. Kathy dedicated her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother, loving wife and thoughtful friend. Kathy excelled at supporting Tom, Sarah, Colleen, and Laura through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. She made it her mission to improve the lives of others, and will be remembered for her thoughtful gestures, steadfast love and beautiful gifts in music and poetry. Kathy was a passionate quilter and when she wasn't filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found volunteering at the kids schools or reading books. We will miss her greatly. In 1972, she met Thomas Werden Buck and they wed in 1977. Together they are the proud parents to three daughters Sarah Louise (Tom) Rooney, Colleen Frances (Eric) Fitts, and Laura Jean Buck. Eight grandchildren Katie and Anne Rooney, Miriam, Isaiah and Clare Fitts, Johnny, Maggie and Evelyn O'Donnell. She is also survived by her brother Thomas (Diane) Murray. Two sisters-in-law Hope Murray and Linda Murray. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her three brothers Robert, Michael and Joseph Murray.
