Kathleen Marie Walsh "Kathy" Born November 1, 1960 and left her earthly life on March 6, 2021 to join her family who preceded her; her parents, Jack J. (1979) and Marie B. (nee Maren) (2016) Walsh; her brother, Dan (1995) and his wife, Karla (2009). Left to cherish her memory are her sister, Marianne (Sam) Governale; her beloved nephews and nieces, Brad (Krista) Walsh, Tiffany (Mike Sanders) Walsh, John (her godson) Governale and Jeff (Jen) Governale and Jayne (Don) Oldham; her adored great-nieces and great-nephews, Ryerson and Calloway Walsh, Reilly Sanders, Cathryn and Madyson Governale; her aunt, Leona Molaschi and her uncle, Frank (Mickey) Maren; several cousins also survive. Kathy started helping out in restaurants at age 12 and had several waitressing jobs at local restaurants before graduating from Southern Illinois University where she competed on the swim team. She was also a graduate of St. Raymond's School and St. Francis Academy. Kathy worked for many years as a Combined Insurance salesperson. She was a great help in caring for her mom in her later years. Kathy's strength in the face of adversity will always be an inspiration. Kathy enjoyed the river life and living in "The house that Jack built." A chance to say good-bye and celebrate Kathleen's life will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Friday, March 12, 2021 from 9 AM to 11 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the Cathedral of St. Raymond Nonnatus beginning at 11:30 AM. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Romeoville. In accordance with CDC Covid-19 guidelines, all attending the visitation and funeral mass will be required to properly wear a face mask and observe social distancing. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory to your favorite charity or "pay it forward" would be appreciated.
