Of Joliet, passed away peacefully at Victorian Village, Homer Glen, IL., Monday, September 12, 2016. Age 76 years.
Survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen Erb (nee Henke) of Joliet, son Kerry (Monica) Erb of Joliet and daughter Kendrea (Nathanael) Fackler of Lincoln, NE. Six grandchildren Kara, Thomas, Raine and Chloe Erb, Ethan and Noah Fackler. Two brothers, James (Celeste) Erb and Barry (Gail) Erb both of Edwardsville, IL. A sister Lola (Richard) Dodge of Fosterburg, IL. and a sister-in-law Brenda Erb of Waterford, WI. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by his parents George and Lorna Erb, and brother David Erb.
Ken was born August 29, 1940 in Edwardsville, IL. He graduated from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville with a degree in Education and Northern Illinois University with a Masters Degree in Administration. Veteran of the U.S. Navy serving aboard the U.S.S. Haverfield. Ken retired from Gompers Junior High School after 31 years of teaching Math and Computers. Member of Our Savior Lutheran Church and Joliet Noon Lions Club. The family would like to thank the numerous caregivers, Victorian Village and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their special care of Ken.
Lying in state at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1910 Black Rd., Friday, September 16, from 9:00 A.M. until services at 10:00 A.M. Rev. Loy Schlote & Rev. William Mitschke officiating. Interment Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to Our Savior Lutheran Church or Joliet Area Community Hospice will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Road, Thursday, September 15 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M
