Kenneth Allen Gustafson

Of New Lenox, passed away at Lightways Hospice, Tuesday, July 7, 2026 at the age of 93 years.

Ken is survived by his son Kenneth (Kathy) Gustafson, three daughters Kimberly (Mark) Wagner, Kay (Dale) Smith and Karyl (Keith) DeGenova. Five beautiful grandchildren Kelly (Jay) Heckart, Kevin Wagner, Katie (Matt) Alic, Kyle Gustafson and Erik Gustafson. Two great-grandchildren Cecilia Jane Heckart and Caden Augustus Alic. He was a cherished uncle, friend and neighbor to many.

Preceded in death by his beloved wife Roberta G. Gustafson (nee Rose) in 2021. His parents Charles and Alma Gustafson. His four siblings Dorothy (Lee) Carr, Carl (Beverly) Gustafson, Phyllis (William) Burt and Norma (Butch) Bissett.

Ken was born August 23, 1932 in Joliet and graduated from Joliet Township High School. He retired from Lindblad Construction Company as a carpenter with Carpenters Union Local #174. Veteran of the U.S. Air Force serving in Germany during the Korean War. Ken loved spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed woodworking, having made rocking horses for his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Private funeral services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood. Memorials to Lightways Hospice will be appreciated.
