Kurt G. Faber – Passed away at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, Thursday, August 26, 2021. Age 71 years. Survived by his loving wife Virginia Ann (Rick) Faber, his sons Michael Gerard Faber, Jonathan Edward Faber, daughter-in-law Katherine Faber and grandchildren Ada and Edie; and his siblings Kim (Faber) Adams, Brett Faber, Jodi (Faber) Galik and Amy(Faber) Beard. Preceded in death by his parents Herbert Gerard and Virginia Colleen (Moore) Faber and his sisters Colleen (Faber) Myler and Vicky Faber. He was born February 22, 1950 in Freeport, IL., a graduate of Polo High School, 1968, SIU B.S. in Physiology 1972, and U of I Dental College 1978. Kurt practiced dentistry for 32 years, mainly in Shorewood, beloved by many patients who appreciated his kind and gentle touch, as well as his skill in restorative dentistry. Many a smile was delivered with care and appreciation to serve. Kurt was well known about Shorewood for running, he completed many marathons, as well as, 10K races for years. He organized the 10K race at the annual Shorewood Fest. In Kurt's later years, he switched to line dancing. Never a dancer, he became a fanatic with a prodigious memory for dance steps. He taught dances at the senior service center and local clubs. His favorite line dance was "I like beer" raise a glass to his memory. In retirement, he became a skilled artisan producing many fine furniture projects and built-in custom work. The finishes on his projects were admired by many. Per Kurt's wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by the Carlson Holmquist Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory.
