January 31, 1950 – July 5, 2023
Larry A. LoBue – died unexpectedly July 5, 2023 at age 73. He was a longtime resident of South Chicago Heights, Joliet and Minooka., IL. He joined the Navy in 1968. Following his service he became an executive for Gingiss Formalwear. He then found his passion serving as a volunteer firefighter in South Chicago Heights. He joined the Joliet Fire Department in 1978 and retired as a Captain. During this time he received his bachelor's degree from Western Illinois University. His many interests included the finer things in life: the New York Yankees, antique cars, fishing, golfing, wine making, traveling, Motown music, cooking and a fine suit and tie. He could really cut a rug and was a trivia virtuoso. His greatest gift was his sense of humor. He was famous for his ravioli and chocolate martinis.
He was preceded in death by his mother Florence Del Gatto and father Nick LoBue.
He is survived by his loving wife Regina of 39 years, his precious daughter Alyssa (Mike) Jensen, two beautiful granddaughters Anna and Ava, his loving sister Kathy LoBue and many dear cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held Thursday July 13th, 2023 at Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home from 3-7pm with services at their chapel the following day, July 14th at 9:00 am with interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. For information call (815) 744 0022 or visit www.CHSFUNERAL.com.
