Lillian Marie Nippert
(nee Caldwell)
Age 95, passed away on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Sunny Hill Nursing Home of Will County. Born in Cripple Creek, CO on June 2, 1922. She was originally from Colorado Springs, CO, lived most of her life in Joliet and most recently in Romeoville and the Timbers of Shorewood.
Member of the Will County Union of King's Daughters and Sons and a longtime member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Joliet, as well as, numerous church activities. Lillian spent her life devoted to her family and friends.
Preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George W. Nippert (2006); her parents, Maurice and Edna Caldwell; her brothers, Raymond and Robert Caldwell.
Survived by her children, Sharon Simmons, Patricia (Dominic) Lusinchi, Michael (Lee Ann) Nippert and Kathleen (Donald) Fanning. Her grandchildren, Jennifer Nippert, Kristin (Michael) Bragg, Brian Fanning and Kevin Fanning. Her great-grandchildren, Tristin Bragg and Addison Bragg. Her brothers-in-law, Gerald and Richard Nippert and sisters-in-law, Lois, Virginia and Jean Nippert. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
Our family would like to thank Dr. Corinne Nawrocki, the staff of Sunny Hill Nursing Home and Joliet Area Community Hospice for their wonderful care of our mom during her illness.
Lillian will lie-in-state at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1910 Black Road Joliet on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:00 am until time of service at 10:30 am. Private interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Visitation at Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home 2320 Black Road, Joliet on Sunday, April 22, 2018 from 3 – 7 pm.
