Obituary

Died in the promise of eternal life, at Joliet Area Community Hospice Home, Thursday, March 7, 2013. Age 85 years. Survived by her husband of 63 years Rev. Howard M. Walker, a son Randall Walker and a daughter Marie Clegg. Two granddaughters Jacqueline Clegg and Brianne (Michael) Redden. A great-granddaughter Kaitlyn Marie Clegg. Her brother Paul E. (Anne) Hahn. Preceded in death by her parents John and Leola Hahn. Two brothers Gordon L. Hahn and John E. Hahn. Lois was born August 3, 1927 in Poughkeepsie, NY. Member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church and former member of First Lutheran Church. She retired as a secretary from Spesia-Ayres Law Firm, J.F.K. Center School District #86 and St. John Lutheran Church. Lois was a member of the American Guild of Organist. Lois and her retired teacher friends would enjoy a coffee clutch at several area restaurants every week. She also enjoyed playing golf. Lying in state at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 412 E. Benton St., Monday, March 11 from 12:00 P.M. until time of services at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Timothy Linstrom and Rev. Rodney M. Juell, officiating. Interment Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorials to Bethlehem Lutheran Church or First Lutheran Church will be appreciated. Visitation will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home, 2320 Black Road, Sunday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
