Bergman
June 2, 1960 – December 11, 2023
Lorraine "Lori" M. Bergman (nee May), beloved wife, daughter, sister, aunt, and cherished member of the community, passed away suddenly at her residence on Monday, December 11, 2023, at the age of 63.
Lori is survived by her devoted husband Jay D. Bergman, whom she worked together with to build First Secure Bank Group from a 83 million dollar bank into a 1.1 billion dollar financial organization.
She leaves behind a legacy of love and strength, remembered by her loving mother Kathleen Cibulskis (nee Nolan), her sisters Karen Cochran and Diane (Joseph) Willson and her brother John (Barb) May. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of her three nieces Kammy (Douglas) Wells, Ashley May, Madison May, her four nephews Austin (Aspen Hill) May, Josh May, Cody Dryden, and Shawn Cochran. Lori will be missed dearly by her great nieces Kendall Wells, Kiana May, Hayvn May, Aubrey Wells, and great nephews Michael Byrd and Ryan Wells.
Lori was preceded in death by her father William May and her brother-in-law, Gregory Cochran.
Throughout her life, Lori dedicated herself to numerous philanthropic and community organizations. She served as the Past President of Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center Foundation Board and was a current member of Ascension St. Joseph Medical Center Joliet Leadership Board. Lori was a previous board member actively involved with Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Will & Grundy Counties, Past President of Holly Club of Joliet, and served on the Board of Directors for Rosary High School in Aurora. Additionally, she contributed her time and passion to Will County Habitat for Humanity and was a past board member of Guardian Angel Family Services. Professionally, Lori served as the Director of Training and Purchasing with First Secure Bank Group.
Funeral services to celebrate Lori's life will be held at Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., on Saturday, December 16th, at 10:00 A.M. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 15th, from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. and Saturday from 9:00 A.M. until time of services.
Memorials in Lori's name may be directed to Will County Humane Society, as she was a strong advocate for their mission.
