Passed away at St. Joseph Medical Center, Sunday, October 4, 2026 at the age of 62.
Survived by her husband Ramiro Ochoa, her son Cristian Ochoa. Three sisters Leticia (Lorenzo) Figueroa, Lorena (David) Gonzalez and Magdalena (J. Carmen) Castillo. Four brothers Joel Tellez, Juan C. Tellez, Jose (Araceli) Tellez and Alvaro (Josefina) Tellez. Also numerous nieces and nephews.
Preceded in death by her parents Joel R. and Luz V. Tellez. Her sister Maria Tellez-Carlson.
Luz was an active member of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church where she taught CCD for over 20 years. She was a member of JACOB, MAC, Nuevo Horizonte, the Diocese of Joliet, and a community activist for the Joliet area Hispanic community.
Funeral services will be held from the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd,. Saturday, October 10, 2026 at 10: 00 A.M. to Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church, 205 E. Jackson St., at 11:00 A.M. for a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment S.S. Cyril & Methodious Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home Friday, October 9, 2026 from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
