Passed away peacefully with his family by his side, at Sunny Hill Nursing Home, on Saturday, January 31, 2009. Age 68. He was born June 5, 1940 in Aurora, IL, son of the late James and Margaret (nee Gabrielson) Gillihan Sr.\r\nSurvived by his children Dan (Diana) Gillihan of Oswego, Tim (Joy) Gillihan of Elwood, Mike (Jessica Galambos) of Aurora and Dawn Gillihan, grandchildren Brandi Gillihan of Rockford, Jamie Gillihan of Orange Park, FL, Joshua and Lora Gillihan of Elwood, Little Dan and Keira of Oswego. A sister Marion (Jerry) Turner of Snellville, GA. Numerous nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.\r\nPreceded in death by his parents. A brother Michael Frederickson, two sisters Joyce Morin and Francis Gillihan and a granddaughter Angela Gillihan.\r\nJames was formerly of Aurora, Joliet and Wilmington, most recently a resident of Sunny Hill Nursing Home. He would spend winters in Snellville, GA. Was employed for many years as a meat cutter for Dominick's. \r\nVeteran of the US Navy. He enjoyed fishing, camping and boating. A member of the Wilmington Moose, Amvets and the East Joliet Fire Department.
