Passed away at his residence, Sunday, March 29, 2020. Age 98 years. Survived by his daughter Dolores (Antonio) Rosado and his son Charles (Phyllis) Campus. Four grandchildren Robert (Stephanie) Rosado, Joseph (Lynn) Rosado, Anthony Campus and Christina Campus. Thirteen great-grandchildren Abilgail, Lillian, Emerson, Kalista, Ty and Isabel Rosado, Raquel, Anthony, Kai, Miranda and Matthew Campus, Mariah Smith and Andrew Barton. Four great-great-grandchildren Peyton Morris, Jorden and Malia Campus and Journey Smith. His sisters Ambrosa, Lucia and Andrea. His brother Arturo Campos. Special nephew and niece Daniel (Marilyn) Campus, Oralia Vela and cousin Rafael (Dawn) Campos. Also numerous nieces, nephews and cousins survive. Preceded in death by his loving wife Martina "Marty" Campus, two grandsons Victor Campus and Steven Alley. His parents Daniel and Constantina (nee DeGodoy) Campos, his foster parents Vincente Crus and Jacinta Martinez. His beloved brothers Frank Campus, Nicholas, Santos and Daniel Campos and his sisters Irene and Amelia. Manuel was born December 7, 1921 in Garden City, Kansas. Proud Veteran of the U.S. Coast Guard serving during W.W. II Manuel retired from U.S. Steel after 40 years and then worked at Woodruff Golf Course as a Starter. Life member of V.F.W. Cantigny Post #367, Knights of Columbus #4400. He was an avid golfer and reader. Manuel's family would like to thank everyone at Joliet Area Community Hospice, who helped make his final days comfortable at home with his family. Funeral services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will be held at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery. Memorials to Joliet Area Community Hospice or St. Bernard Catholic Church will be appreciated.
