When Maria was in her country, Mexico, she always helped the less fortunate. She took care of her family and neighbors. During this time in Mexico, life was different. Economically it was rough and there was little room for progress. Dona Lupe, as many called her, was fortunate enough to have her husband work in the United States which assisted her economically. She shared her wealth with family and neighbors. Even after she left Mexico and her husband passed, she continued to help others by sending the little she had aiding the sick and less fortunate. After her passing, the family was informed; her hometown mourned her loss. The assistance she provided to others was never forgotten.
Her children and others always remember how attentive she was of the needs of others. She expressed so much love and care by surprising you with your favorite dishes, but it was known to not let her catch you with an empty plate because before you knew it, it would be full once more. She would make homemade tortillas while you ate so they would always be warm. Her meals will be remembered by many.
Dona Lupe was a devoted catholic. She spent hours each day praying for her family's wellbeing. All she wanted was for her family to stay united. She was the pillar of the family. Every time a loved one was sick she would visit them and take care of them until their recovery. She always worried more about others than herself. The most beautiful thing about her is she got along with everyone and never had indifferences with others. DoVia Lupe made an impact on everyone she has met and will live forever in the hearts of many.
