Marie B. Walsh (nee Maren) Born on February 2nd (Ground Hog Day) on her father's birthday. She left this earthly world on June 27, 2016 with her loving daughters, Marianne Governale and Kathleen Marie Walsh by her side. Survived by to cherish her memory are her daughters, Marianne (Sam/Vic, her favorite son-in-law) Governale and Kathleen Marie Walsh; her grandchildren, Brad (Krista) Walsh, Tiffany (Mike Sanders) Walsh, John and Jeff (Jen) Governale; her adorable great-grandchildren, Ryerson and Calloway Walsh, Reilly Sanders, Cathryn and Madyson Governale; her brother, Frank (Mickey) Maren; her sister, Leona Molaschi; several nieces and nephews. Preceded by her husband, Jack J. Walsh (1979); her son, Daniel (1995); her parents, Joseph and Mary Maren; her brothers, Joe, Bob, Bill, Ted and her sister Dorothy Stone. Graduate of St. Francis Academy, worked at the Arsenal and as a court reporter for many years at the Will County Courthouse. She was probably the last of the old time court reporters taking shorthand and typing hundreds of transcripts on a typewriter. She was a member of the Slovenian Union and the Joliet Moose. After retirement, she loved to golf, walking 18 holes almost every day. Her smile lit-up her beautiful blue eyes and she talked and talked to everyone. She never met a stranger. Visitation for Marie B. Walsh will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory, 2320 Black Road on Tuesday, July 5, 2016 from 4 to 8 P.M. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at 9:30 A.M. from the funeral home to the Cathedral of St. Raymond for a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 A.M. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Cancer Research or other Charities in Marie's memory.
