Obituary

Marilyn Jean Bersano – (nee Yedlicka) passed away at Amita St. Joseph Medical Center, Thursday, May 20, 2021. She was 88. Marilyn as preceded in death by her loving husband LaVerne Bersano, parents Anton and Sara (Lowe) Yedlicka, her brother Anthony Yedlicka, brothers-in-law Joseph Skuban, Joseph Bersano and John Bersano. She is survived by her sisters, Shirline Skuban and Donna (George) Bexson, and numerous nieces, nephews and Godchildren. She will be remembered by all and dearly missed. Marilyn was born in Braceville, IL., on July 3, 1932. She graduated from Gardner South Wilmington High School in 1950 and attended Illinois State University in Normal, IL. Marilyn married the love of her life, LaVerne Bersano on June 6, 1953. She found joy in supporting LaVerne in his business, Jos. Bersano & Sons General Contractors. Marilyn and LaVern built a beautiful home together. She was the happiest at home sharing time with LaVerne and their dog Pepe watching and cheering on the Chicago Bears. She worked in the offices of Joliet Ammunition Plant and Social Security Administration. She was a devout Catholic and longtime member of Church of St. Anthony. Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at Church of St. Anthony, 100 Scott St. Joliet. Visitation will be at church from 9:00 AM until time of Mass. Interment Resurrection Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Anthony's would be appreciated.
