Marilynn Gail Fischer (nee Rowe)

Passed away peacefully with her family by her side after a long illness, Saturday, June 10, 2023. Age 82

Survived by her children, Daniel of Minooka, Albert of Mazon, Erika Rock of Joliet, and Michelle

Cullick of Braidwood; Brothers Richard, Ralph, and Jeremiah Rowe; Brother-in-law Ernst (Ursula) Fischer; seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Numerous nieces, nephews, and other beloved family members also survive.

Preceded in death by her cherished husband of 50 years Ewald; parents Richard and Rosalie Rowe; sisters Velma Moran and Shirley Lambert and brother John Rowe.

Born in Ottawa, IL. Retired math teacher from Joliet Township High Schools. Studied at

University of St. Francis and Governors State University. Active in the church and Sunday School of Theodore Street Lutheran Church and Faith Lutheran Church. Served on boards and coached of community youth sports through St. Joseph Boys Baseball, Pony Baseball, Inc., and Joliet Softball Association. Also coached softball at Joliet West and coach soccer through Joliet Park District.

A devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed family events.

Celebration of Life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church, 353 N. Midland Ave. on Friday, June 16, 2023 starting at 10:00 am Visitation and 11:00 am Service. Luncheon to follow. Private family service at Abraham Lincoln Cemetery to be conducted at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Faith Lutheran Church - Youth Services or Plant a Tree through Carlson Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home and Crematory.
