Marilyn "Rae Hinton (nee Barker) – passed away peacefully Thursday, August 24, 2023. Age 98.

Survived by her grandson Jay (Holly) Kitzman, granddaughter Tara (Brian) Carlidge, great grandchildren Sam and Ivey Kitzman; her son-in-law Art (Barbara) Kitzman and special friend Frank Sereno.

Preceded in death by her husband Jack Hinton, her daughter Sandra Kitzman and her brother Norm Barker.

Rae was a lifelong member and supporter of Grace United Methodist Church. She was an educator for over 25 years with Joliet Public Grade School. She was an avid reader, enjoyed traveling with her family and was a Chicago sports fan. Rae was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved to socialize and visit. Whether she was beating you in Mexican train dominos or just asking questions, she always made you feel like the most important person in the room. Rae was also a very strong and independent woman, but her super powers came in the form of greeting cards. She never missed a holiday, birthday or special event. There are three certainties in life: death, taxes and receiving a card filled with X's and O's on your birthday from Gram. She will be missed!
