Mark W. Schlueter – passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, Saturday, November 19 , 2022. Age 72 years.

Survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Karen (Hostert) Schlueter, his son Mike Schlueter, daughter Amy (Steve) Treptow, grandchildren Hannah and EJ Treptow; his sisters Penny (James) Thomson, Becky (Dave) Terlep, brother-in-law Ronald (Sharon) Hostert and sister-in-law Sharon (Ron Stewart). Niece, nephews and cousins also survive.

Preceded in death by his parents William and Allene Schlueter and his father-in-law and mother-in-law James and Thelma Hostert.

Mark proudly served with the Honor Guard in Korea, receiving the National Defense Service Medal and Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal. Mark worked for Ceco Steel and Argonne National Laboratory for over 20 years. He was an avid hunter, loved sports, playing cards, and enjoyed tending to his garden, especially his cactuses. Mark's greatest love was his family, especially his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were his life, and spending time with them was very important to him. He was a gentle soul that loved life. The family would like to thank his family, friends and neighbors for all their help during this difficult time, and to Harvest Homecare for the exceptional care given to Mark.

Funeral services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Wednesday, November 23, 2022 at 12:00 P.M. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 9:00 A.M. until the time of services at 12:00 P.M. Interment Woodlawn Memorial Park.
