Marselo (Patch/Chelo) Pacheco passed away at the age of 89, on August 2, 2022, peacefully at home surrounded by his family. Born on October 13, 1932, in El Paso, Texas, he was raised in
Rockdale, IL, attended Joliet Central High School, Joliet Junior College, and served in the US
Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked for Commonwealth Edison, retiring after 38 years
as a Shift Engineer.
Chelo is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Sandy (nee Blessing), his daughters Cathy-
Lyn Pacheco and Cristy Pacheco-Woodke (Dean), his stepchildren, DeAnne Koran (Kelly), Craig
Horvath (Karen), and Bryan Horvath (Lori); grandchildren Shannon Munstedt, Joshua Eatman,
Matthew and Amber Koran, Olivia and Jack Horvath, and Cade and Colin Horvath. Also survived
by his sister Eustolia (Nena) Jendrzejczyk, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Preceded in death by his mother, Ramona, and brother, Ricardo.
Chelo was very athletic and excelled at wrestling, baseball, football, bowling, and golf. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, papa, brother, uncle, and friend.

Services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church in Joliet on Friday, September 9, 2022. Visitation from 8:30 to 9:15, rosary to
follow at 9:20, and Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment with full military honors at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery Elwood. In lieu of flowers, donations
