Mary Jo Hawkinson (nee Curtis) – Of Shorewood, formerly of White Bear Lake, MN. Born November 9, 1922 in Stillwater, MN, passed away peacefully at Presence St. Joseph Medical Center, Friday, September 19, 2014. Age 91. Loving mother of Douglas (Linda Murphy) Hawkinson of Shorewood; "Blue" grandmother of Andrew (Kelly) Hawkinson of Aurora, Elizabeth (Richard) Stutte of Shorewood, Susan (Raymond) Canole, of Deerfield, and Steven (Melissa) Hawkinson of Millbrook; special great-grandmother to Alex Henze, Ty Hawkinson, Brandon Hermann, Tessa and Gabriella Stutte, William and Emily Canole, Jackson, Brooklyn and Callie Hawkinson. Her brother Thomas (Patricia) Curtis of St. Paul, MN; numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 58 years Gordon Hawkinson, her parents Thomas and Rose (nee Columbo) Curtis, and two sisters Patricia Rhitt and Jane Begue. Member of Messiah Lutheran Church. Lying in state at Messiah Lutheran Church, 19901 S. Houbolt Road, on Saturday, September 27, 2014 from 9:00 AM until time of services at 11:00 A.M. Interment St. John Episcopal Cemetery in White Bear Lake, MN. Memorials to Lurie's Children's Hospital or Messiah Lutheran Church will be appreciated.
