Mary Lou Lofdahl

Of Joliet, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Avantara Joliet (Villa Franciscan) Nursing Home, surrounded by the love of her family, at the age of 84 years.

Mary Lou is survived by her devoted husband of 64 years Frank W. Lofdahl, her son Eric W. Lofdahl and her cherished granddaughters Kelsie Rae (Nick) Gould and Taylor Rae (Lino) Bibian. She leaves behind four beloved great-grandchildren Lino James Bibian, Rosalie Rae Gould, Mia Rae Bibian, and Marie Rae Bibian, as well as several nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents William C. and Katherine (nee Kondziorski) Bozich, her sons David W. Lofdahl and James W. Lofdahl, grandson Zachary James Lofdahl, great-granddaughter Rachael Marie Lofdahl, brother Richard Bozich and sister Josephine "Joann" Hamner.

Mary Lou was born on March 24, 1941, in Joliet. She was a proud graduate of Providence Catholic High School, Class of 1959. Mary Lou worked for many years at Joliet Answering Service before joining her husband at Midwest Automotive Consulting, where they enjoyed 13 years working side by side.

She had a passion for breeding and showing English Bulldogs and served as an American Kennel Club (AKC) Judge for over a decade. Creative and talented, Mary Lou spent countless hours on crafts, projects and baking. She also had a green thumb for gardening. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed trips to the casinos, both locally and in Las Vegas, where she and Frank shared many memorable moments.

Private family services, including a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
