Mary Magdalene
Sosnoski
June 23, 1922 – September 20, 2023
Mary Magdalene Sosnoski (nee Penton) – Mary and her "Eddie" are reunited at last.
Mary was born to Mary and John Penton June 23, 1922 in Morris, Il. Her childhood included taking care of her mother's chickens, rabbits and even a little lamb. She graduated from Immaculate Conception Grade School and Morris High School. Leaving Morris to find employment in Joliet, she found more than a job at Moore's Bros. Stove Works, she met her life partner…Edward Sosnoski. They wed April 15, 1950 and settled in an owner completion home on Joliet's west side.
Mary selflessly dedicated her time to Holy Family Catholic Church, Cantigny Ladies Auxiliary and Daybreak Shelter. Bowling at Rivals, attending monthly meetings of Will County Seniors, baking Cherry and Strawberry Rhubarb pies, joining in many bus excursions throughout the country, brought her much joy. Her greatest joy in life came with the birth of her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Paula (Paul) Boley and Paul Sosnoski, grandchildren Gayle (Andreas) Litsogiannis, Matthew (Kelly) Boley, Andria (Ret. Capt. Anthony Simone USAF) Simone; great-grandchildren Sophie and Nicholas Litsogiannis, Madelyn Boley and Will, Avery and Owen Simon.
Preceded in death by her husband Ed Sosnoski, brothers Joseph Penton, John (Delores) Herubin. Her in-laws Anton and Frances Sosnoski and many dear friends.
