Passed away peacefully at home after a 3 year fight with ALS, Monday, November 19, 2012. Age 65. Survived by his loving wife of almost 30 years Cynthia S. (nee Stiller) Warta. A brother Martin Warta of Chicago, two sisters Colleen Becker of Henderson, NV and Maureen Lyons of Lake in the Hills. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive. Preceded in death by his parents Robert and Margaret (nee Hesselmann) Warta. Graduate of Lane Tech High School Class of 1965 and Northern Illinois University in 1975 after serving in the Air Force. Mike enlisted in the Air Force and continued serving in the Air National Guard where he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel after 24 years. He enjoyed sports including Skiing, scuba diving, bowling and golf.
