Miles William McReynolds

Passed away after at his residence surrounded by his loving family, after a nine month battle with Metastatic Melanoma, Monday, August 3, 2026 at the age of 30 years.

Survived by his loving wife of six years Emily M. McReynolds (nee Marx), their three children Matthew (4), Madeline (18 months) and Melanie Grace (8 weeks). His parents Mark and Kristy McReynolds and his sister Molly (David) Vonk. His mother-in-law Connie Marx and sister-in-law Katie (Zach Mills) Marx. His maternal grandparents David and Sandee Simmon and an uncle Tom Simmons. His two nieces Willow Vonk and Olivia Marx. Miles will also be missed by his loyal and faithful cat, Lulu.

Preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Terry and Patty McReynolds, his father-in-law Greg Marx (2013) and his cousin Grace Buhle.

Miles was born on July 9, 1996, in Normal, Illinois. He graduated from Normal Community High School with the Class of 2014, where he was a member of the football team. He continued his education at Illinois State University, earning a bachelor’s degree in biology in 2019.

Following college, Miles began his career with Carl Buddig & Company as a laboratory technician. Through his dedication and strong work ethic, he advanced to laboratory supervisor and later promoted to quality control manager.

Miles had a lifelong love of sports. He was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals and the Rams and especially enjoyed high school and college football. During March Madness, he could often be counted on to select the “long shot” team. Miles possessed an impressive knowledge of players, teams, plays, and statistics and could readily recall details from nearly any game.

Fishing was another favorite pastime. He enjoyed fishing with his coworkers and treasured the memories of fishing with his grandfather when he was young.

Miles was a devoted member and deacon of Judson Church. He frequently served Communion during worship services and was always willing to lend a hand wherever help was needed. His faith was a central part of his life and remained a profound source of strength, peace, and comfort throughout his illness.

Above all else, Miles was devoted to Emily and their children. His family was the center of his world, and the love he shared with them was the greatest joy and most meaningful part of his life. He will be remembered for his deep faith, his generous and helpful spirit, his quick knowledge of sports, and the immeasurable love he had for his family.

Visitation will be held at the Judson Church, 2800 Black Road, Sunday, August 9, 2026 from 1:30 P.M. – 4:30 P.M. with services beginning at 5:00 P.M. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park. Memorials to Miles McReynolds Go Fund Me at https://gofund.me/d1b13895e will be appreciated
