The world lost our beloved wife, mom, grandma and great grandma on May 21, 2023. She was born in Chicago to Edward and Jean Gallagher. They later moved to Oak Lawn. She met the boy next door (Alan) fell in love and married in 1960. They have been inseparable ever since. Since 1967 they moved with their three daughters and resided in Joliet.

She was an incredible wife, mom and career woman who was always there when needed. Nancy and Alan worked side by side at the Nowacki Insurance Agency for many years. They volunteered together for numerous charities and organizations. They enjoyed camping with family and friends, numerous vacations and spending time at their lake house. They had much fun and laughter together.

Unfortunately, her freedom to do as she pleased changed when Nancy was diagnosed with Alzheimer's. Her life along with her loved ones turned upside down. We would like to especially thank Story Point (Senior Star) community. They treated Nancy like family. Marie, Lou, Nia, Barb and Brianna are a few staff members whose care is phenomenal.

We would also like to thank Easter Seals Support group and Lightways Hospice for all of their services.

Nancy is survived by her husband Alan, three daughters Deanna Stewart, Caryn (Steven) Nowacki-Reed and Susan (Michael) Miller. Nancy has eleven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, her brother and sister in law, many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Our family is grateful to know that Nancy is finally at peace. Nancy had many friends and is a well-loved member of the community.

Memorial services will be held at the Carlson-Holmquist-Sayles Funeral Home & Crematory, 2320 Black Rd., Tuesday, June 6th at 11:00 A.M. Visitation will be held Monday, June 5th from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M.
